Park Permits

Do you want to reserve a park facility for your group's picnic, ballgame, 5k run, ultimate frisbee game or another activity? Boston's parks are split between two different owners/managers. The city's Boston Parks & Recreation Department (BPRD) oversees about 2,400 acres and the state's MA Department of Conservation & Recreation (DCR) controls another 2,950 acres. Both have ballfields, picnic areas, walking/jogging routes and other facilities that you can reserve with a permit. To get a permit, you have to  know which agency manages the park you'd like to use. Click here for BPRD city park permit application (updated February 2017). Click here for DCR state park permits. You can also use the Boston Green Map to locate parks and facilities in every neighborhood. JESSICA AT FINISH LINE
