With renewed attention on Boston's parks and open space from Mayor Walsh, the 2030 planning process, and the Community Preservation Act, park friends groups and advocates have an opportunity to keep the city's green needs at the forefront. Come learn or refresh & share your skills with the citywide open space community. The bootcamp is for park volunteers, friends groups, community gardeners, recreation and sports league coordinators, schoolyard supporters, and greenway advocates - anyone seeking to enhance open space in Boston. All levels of advocacy experience are welcome. Teens through seniors are encouraged to attend. This training is free, with an optional suggested donation of $10, payable at the door. Details: Saturday March 11 from 8:30am-1:30pm. Breakfast will be provided. There will be an optional lunch-time portion of the day from about 12:45-1:30pm for people to network and share information. Location: Fenway Community Center, 1282 Boylston Street, Boston. Please register here by March 3. Confirmation and a full agenda will be sent to all registrants.
